These are treasured thoughts I wrote a couple of years ago that I wanted to share that was originally titled the watcher. But now, with some revisions here it is:

Jesus in the center.

Tuesday Nov. 6th , I woke up to rainy weather thinking I’m still gonna go vote today.

When I got there I was expecting a long line, but it turned out that a lot of people had voted early, so no line and no wait for me period!

They processed me through and my mother was right behind me but when they got to her they said her address wasn’t showing up in that county as the place she registered to vote.

So while I’m casting my votes in for president and other local things, I’m overhearing the conversation between my mom and those poll officials. My mother never raised her voice at them like what’s the problem with a nasty attitude. She was actually the opposite!

The words that were coming out of her mouth were pleasant with a great attitude behind it. As I was casting my vote, the lord was saying that’s how Christians stand out, we don’t conform to what’s expected. When people expect you to complain, BE thankful and maintain a good positive attitude because God is your defender NOT your bad attitude.

Winning isn’t the person who displays a bad attitude to make a point, or the person who ignores you. Nor is it the person who decided to insult you with their words and mistreat you.

But the real winner is the person who allows love to bear up under anything in their lives. The love that knows no end or conditions. It doesn’t quit, or give up on people because of attitudes, circumstances and events.

This love makes it clear what it means to know Christ.

“But I thank God, who always leads us in victory because of Christ. Wherever we go, God uses us to make clear what it means to know Christ. It’s like a fragrance that fills the air.”

‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭2:14‬ ‭GW‬‬

In the tune of an old gospel song,

“This love that I have, the world didn’t give it to me and the world can’t take it away!!”
